Review of the photo exhibition last week

Since its launch on April 28, the “The beauty around me” photo exhibition, included in the "Walking to See the World" exhibition, has attracted extensive attention. Statistics show that by 11:00 on May 5, 1,342 people have read relevant articles from the following official accounts: Tongji University Library, the International School of Tongji University, Tongji University International Students Office, Tongji University International Cooperation and Exchange, and Tongji University Panda Talk.

633 people voted, and the 28 photographs on display received a total of 1,264 votes. Among them, the photograph “The sea and the sky merging into one” taken by Zhang Jingren from Myanmar received 274 votes, earning him the title of “the Popular Star” of the competition.

About the Exhibition

World tour —— an exhibition of video works of international and Chinese students is the third series of the “Walking to See the World” exhibition.

The universe is vast and wide, and the world is bright and cheerful. The videos shooting by Chinese and foreign students take us to different corners of the world to appreciate the multiple faces of nature and to observe how people elsewhere are living their lives to the fullest. No one can escape from trivialities in real life. It’s time for us to take a short break, enjoy a “virtual tour” and follow the camera to highlands and deserts so that we can accept how negligible individuals are and reflect on what we have got.

1.“Vietnam, My Home” - Chen Shixuan (from Vietnam)

School: School of Ocean and Earth Science, Tongji University

Description: We also celebrate the Spring Festival in Vietnam. However, different from China, Vietnam is in a warm season with blossoming flowers during the Spring Festival, and we welcome the new year with delicacies.

2.“The Atmosphere of the Chinese New Year in Anqing"- Yang Jing (from China)

School: the International School of Tongji University

Description: As the most important festival for Chinese people, the Chinese New Year is celebrated with different local customs. The atmosphere of the Chinese New Year in my hometown always keeps me warm wherever I am.

3.“My Encounter with China”- Qian Xiuling (from Malaysia)

Description: I am a Malaysian onion sprouting in China.
