Time:2021-11-03 |
On the evening of October 15th, the German Library invited Teacher Wang Yida, a vocal lecturer in the Music Department of School of Art and Communication of Tongji University, and her students to lead everyone into the ocean of Sino-German art songs through a combination of lectures and live singing. By comparing the differences between Chinese art songs and German and Austrian art songs, Mrs. Wang let us feel the charm of art songs from the different connotations of the two cultures. At the beginning of the lecture, Mrs. Wang introduced the origins of Chinese art songs and German-Austrian art songs and their respective development processes. From the perspective of a musician, she compared Chinese and German art songs in terms of form, content and social and historical background. The comparison allowed everyone to appreciate the unique beauty of Chinese and German art songs. Then, 4 students from the Vocal Music Department of the School of Arts and Communication performed live comparisons of several sets of Chinese and German art songs, allowing teachers and students to immerse themselves in the melodious, graceful and high-pitched music, and truly feel the subtle differences between the two kinds of art songs and their unique charm. In the meantime, Mrs. Wang gave a detailed introduction to the background, creator, and emotional expression of the songs. More than 70 teachers and students listened attentively throughout the lecture. Together they enjoyed several Chinese-German art songs such as "Gretchen am Spinnrade", "Auf dem Wasser zu singen" and "Wild Rose" performed live by Teacher Wang and her students. These artistic compositions have added parts indispensable in the respective history of China and Germany, contributed a valuable spiritual and cultural wealth to mankind, and deeply influenced the creation ideas of later art songs composers. After nearly 2 hours of interaction, the lecture ended successfully in graceful singing. Text: Sun Le, Hua Zhiying
