ESI is an analytical database built on the basis of the collection and analysis of academic papers and references cited by SCIE/SSCI by Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters), which is currently recognized by the academic community as an analytical evaluation tool that measures scientific research performance and tracks scientific development trends. ESI conducts rolling statistics and sorts the total number of citations of countries and regions, research institutions, papers, and individuals around the world in 22 subject areas, and the results are published every two months. In the same year, the number of citations published in the same ESI subject is ranked from high to low, and the top 1% of papers are highly cited papers.
