  Time:2020-01-03
Speaking of Dunhuang, it is not the first time for it to be exhibited in Tongji University.
In March 2017, Tongji University Museum held “Public Itinerant Exhibition of Fine Arts of Dunhuang Murals in Universities”. At the same time, Wen Xuetang held a series of activities——“Visit for Dunhuang in the Library”.

Teachers and students in Tongji got the chance to know about the pieces of Dunhuang art treasures and were touched by the stories of Dunhuang.

Dunhuang Grottoes are known as “Art galleries in the Desert” and “Museums on the Wall”. They are cultural heritage and art treasure of Silk Road and human culture. The famous Chinese scholar and writer Yu Qiuyu once wrote:“Looking at Mogao Grottoes, you will not find that they are just the specimen with more than a thousand years but true lives for over thousands of years. For a thousand years, such treasure is still alive, you can even feel the breath of it. How magnificent it is!”
In 2019, we encounter again with Dunhuang. Wen Xuetang organized “Hand-painted Dunhuang” experience and prepared colorful pencils and Dunhuang art line drawings. The theme includes folklore, technology, landscape, musical instruments and furniture. These activities are enjoyed by everyone present.
