The 2nd "Hear Your Voice" Shanghai Universities German Recitation Contest is successfully launched

On the evening of November 29th, the final of the 2nd "Hear Your Voice" Shanghai universities German Recitation Contest hosted by Chinesisch Deutsche Hochschule (CDH), German Library and Department of German of Tongji University was successfully launched in the lecture hall of German Library.
The panel of judges was composed of several specialists in the field of German language: Dr. Yu Chen, German Department lector of Tongji University; Arnika Heise, Deputy Program Director of Shanghai Goethe -Jinchuang Sprachlernzentrum; Native German-speaking teacher Marc Esser from German Department of Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Carmen Eisenhauer from Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen (ZfA) and literature researcher at Shanghai Normal University, Dr. Dagmar Lorenz.

The competition was divided into two rounds. The first round was Individual Competition. In this round, each contestant drew lots for the poem to deliver recitation. Top 12 participants were qualified for the second round - Group Competition. Each two participants recited a piece of German short prose as a team. The theme of this contest was “the Cities”, all the poetry and short prose based on the theme. There were a total of 130 students from ten universities in Shanghai had submitted entries, at last there were 20 of them reached the finals.

Before the contest began, Ms. Andrea Schwedler gave opening remarks and sent her wishes to all the contestants to perform well in this contest. The good news is that the 20 contestants won rounds of applause in the finals with their unique interpretations, their excellent performance speaks for their careful preparation for a couple of days.

After fierce competition, according to the results of specialists-evaluation and assessment of public voting, Cheng Keqing, Wang Qing, Zhang Diwei, He Yifei, Xue Wenji, and Zhang Siyi won the great prize. Hou Yunyu (Shanghai International Studies University), Li Heming (East China Normal University) and Cao Jiayu (University of Shanghai for Science and Technology) won the third prize, Wang Zixuan (East China Normal University) and Zhang Jiahao (Tongji University) won the second prize, and the first prize was won by Li Jiaxin of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.

In laughter and happiness, the 2nd "Hear Your Voice" Shanghai universities German Recitation Contest concluded successfully. In the future, CDH and German Library will uphold the international exchange concept with the features of German culture to hold more exciting activities.
